Description

This is a selection of two different micro-lots from Kelvin Pineda’s farm “Finca Arianita”, located in Santa Barbara, Honduras. We selected these lots to contrast the different flavour profiles and versatility we receive from Kelvin and to highlight the incredible work he does growing and processing his coffees, recently in the honey and natural processes.

Expect a bright, complex and fruit-forward coffee for filter brewing and a refined, elegant, insanely sweetness-focused coffee to enjoy as an espresso.

This duo collection includes:

  • Two 6oz coffee bags of Finca Arianita (2 processes: honey and natural).
  • One coffee card describing their unique processes and tastes.

Sorry, no substitutions. Learn more about each coffee below.

Sourcing Story

49th Parallel Crop To Cup Story

Finca Arianita is owned by Kelvin Pineda, located in the hills of Santa Barbara, Honduras.

Kelvin purchased this land from his father-in-law Elio Diaz, who is the owner of ‘Piedras Amarillas’,one of our longest, most important relationships in Honduras. Naming the farm after his daughter, Kelvin manages the 2500 trees on Arianita with meticulous care and a focus on natural stewardship of the land.

In 2017, he switched his coffee production to focus on specialty quality. He’s growing primarily Bourbon and Pacas varieties, with some Catimor as well. He’s also started experimenting with non-washed processes like natural and honey, with very promising results.

In 2019, Kelvin entered a lot of fully washed Bourbon variety in the 2019 ‘Best of Honduras’ late harvest auction, coming in an outstanding first place! This is a monumental achievement and we’re very proud to be able to showcase such a talented producer.
