Kenya Karimikui AB
This is a washed process lot from Karimikui washing station in Kirinyaga, Kenya. Karimikui is a classic example of everything we like about Kenyan coffee – hyper juicy, fruit forward acidity with big body and dense, concentrated sweetness. Expect notes of citrus, stone fruit, mixed berries and more!
Karimikui is one of the three washing stations owned and operated by the Rungeto Farmers' Cooperative Society - the other two being Kiangoi and Kii. Karimikui works with over 1400 smallholder producers who each contribute around 500kg of picked cherry each year. The Rungeto cooperative was formed around the closure of a previous cooperative, Ngiriama. Organizing anew from the previous asset holders, they’ve been producing coffees under these three factories since the late 1990’s. This lot is produced in the classic Kenyan washed processing method and sun dried on raised African beds.
