Vieux Montreal is the 49th's celebration of our friends in Quebec. La Pensilvania from Colombia was the perfect choice to pay homage to the city that’s been like a second home to us. Expect a deep, well-structured cup with tons of sweetness and rounder fruit qualities.

Diomed Montano’s farm ‘La Pensilvania’ can be found close to El Mirador in Palermo, Colombia. Located in one of the country’s beautiful valleys, the farm is divided into two 5 hectares lots at approximately 1800 masl.
The soil in this region is dense, humid and very fertile. One of the most interesting things about Diomed’s work is that he has rebuilt his mechanical drier to be able to extend the drying times for his coffee. We believe that this custom made machine, with the ability to extend coffee drying from 36 hours to 3 full days, is what makes this coffee so unique. Diomed and his wife, who owns the lower part of the farm, have been consistently delivering coffee to the nearby cooperative for over 35 years.
Our journey with Diomed Montano started at Azahar’s lab in Armenia, Colombia. When we first tasted this coffee we couldn’t believe it was a Colombian microlot. Even though it wasn’t part of our itinerary, we decided to pay Diomed a visit and see his operation. We’ve been happy partners ever since!
