Sitio Vista Alegre is produced through FAF’s’ “Bob-o-link" Project in Caparaó, Minas Gerais. The Bob-o-link project connects various smallholder farmers in the area together to shift the coffee production towards an emphasis on higher quality and more environmentally friendly, sustainable agricultural methods.
This includes things like responsible management of the naturally occurring mountain spring water used for coffee growing, planting shade trees to create biodiversity and naturally protect coffee trees from the sun as well as usage of non-harmful fertilizers in the soil. FAF also promotes the personal wellbeing of the producers they work with, encouraging educational and personal development.
Two farmers, uncle and nephew (Walter and Fernando Heringer) make up this coffee, which is handpicked and naturally processed. They are in the Tres Barras Valley, which has a unique micro-climate bordering Pico da Bandeira Park.
