Peru La Peña Blanca
Citrus • Dark Berries • Vanilla •Description
In the cup, we found notes of citrus fruits and dark berries with a floral, vanilla-like sweetness. This a lively, fruity coffee with a juicy mouthfeel and great intensity.
Please note, some of our Filter coffees will be temporarily packaged in grey coffee bags while we wait for more mint coffee bags to arrive. Not to worry, no changes have been made to the coffee beans and you can expect the same great taste and flavours in each bag (updated: January 4, 2021).

Sourcing Story
49th Parallel Crop To Cup Story
Roxana Rafael is a third-generation Peruvian producer located in the Cajamarca region near the remote district of Colasay. She took ownership of La Peña Blanca 6 years ago and with the help of her family, they have started producing exceptional coffees. This lot is fully washed with 12 hours of dry fermentation, 8-10 days of drying in the shade followed by 3-4 days in the sun.
Roxana's goals are to improve the coffee quality each year and to buy a house in her town. For now, she has hired three permanent staff who are helping her out with picking, sorting and processing.
Peru is very quickly becoming an extremely exciting origin for specialty coffee and one of our favourites. This is our second time offering Roxana's coffee and we’re delighted to be showcasing the growing quality and talent of Peruvian producers.
