49th Parallel Crop To Cup Story
Next in our small lot series program we would like to introduce Finca Arianita! This washed process Bourbon varietal placed a whopping first place in Project Origin’s 2019 “Best Of Honduras: Late Harvest” auction.
Grown by producer Kelvin Pineda in the hills of Santa Barbara, Honduras, this coffee is especially sentimental to us. Kelvin shifted his coffee production to focus on specialty quality in 2017 after acquiring a plot of farm land from his father-in-law, Elio Diaz. A long time partner of 49th, Elio was the producer of “Recuerdo Los Andes”, one of our previous small lot series and 3rd place winner at the same auction. Kelvin named this coffee “Arianita” after his daughter, who he plans on using the earnings from the auction to support.
49th Parallel is so proud to have relationships with both of these producers who are growing such superb, high quality coffee. We’re especially happy for Kelvin and his monumental achievement of first place! Finca Arianita is an example of coffee producing at the highest level.
