This is a lot of yellow bourbon grown by João Hamilton on his farm Sítio Canaã in Caconde, São Paulo. As espresso expect a rounded, velvety mouthfeel with a decadent sweetness and great balance. A perfect all rounder espresso.

Sourcing Story

49th Parallel Crop To Cup Story

This is our third year sourcing coffee from João Hamilton, after being very happy with the lots we had sourced in the previously. His farm, Sítio Canaã, is situated between 1200 - 1350 m.a.s.l, just outside the city of São Paulo. João is growing Catuai, Mundo Novo, Sumatra, and Bourbon varieties. He is also separating some Obata lots that we especially enjoy.

Previously growing coffee for the commodity market, in 2006 João made the switch to a more sustainable, environmentally friendly and quality focussed approach. Working with local green coffee exporters FAF (Fazenda Ambiental Fortaleza), João along with FAF are now recognized to be at the forefront of specialty coffee being produced in Brazil.

João is doing fantastic work growing clean, complex coffees and continuing to push the upper boundaries of coffee quality in Brazil. We look forward to continuing to develop this relationship in the future!

Yummy as an espresso

This is very good as an espresso, No bitterness, quite smooth taste but at the same time not singled note, more complex. I really enjoy this cup of coffee.

Bean the Best

These beans have an incredibly unique flavor. Not too rich, with a distinct butter-cream-nut character, that makes it hard to put down the cup.

Easy to love and drink!

Great as espresso or as filter! A full nutty body with a light vanilla spice like finish! An easy coffee for everyone to love. If you are looking for bold tasteful flavours, its here. If you are looking for a coffee with a bit of complexity, its here in the finish. Recommend this coffee for everyone!
