Born in Cauca, Carlos decided to live a bit of a nomadic lifestyle and ended up settling in Pitalito. Carlos loves order and cleanliness, and it shows with how he processes his coffee, and how it shines in the cup. This year we experimented with coffee from Carlos making his fermentation process longer and more sophisticated than usual. We have gained more complexity and better texture in the cup seeing potential with standardizing this phase a little bit more. Carlos is a passionate coffee producer who responds very carefully to the proposed steps of cooperation. There is continual investment back into Carlos and Patricia’s business, and the results are in your cup.
Carlos and his family produce some of the most consistently delightful Caturra and Castillo varieties we have ever tried. We are proud to be partnered with such a passionate coffee family over the last four years. We have serious respect for the Guamanga family; they are living a beautiful life.
You can expect flavours of raspberry, red currant jam with a syrupy mouthfeel.
