This is a lot from two small producers who cultivate 100% Caturra around the Galeras Volcano. This place is impressive, with soaring altitude and (of course) loads of fertile volcanic soil. All that, and 100% Caturra too? Now that’s something to get excited about. Carlos Palacios joins forces with Leonardo Lopez down the road in neighbouring El Tambo and though they aren’t in the same area exactly, they do have a lot of commonalities. They are both obsessed with picking red ripe cherry, and they farming within 100 meters of each other in altitude.

With soft orange blossom floral aromatics, buttery body and a soft elegant profile, this is a really nice example of top quality Caturra cultivar, in one of our favourite growing regions - Nariño.

For all types of filter coffee brewing, we recommend the following parameters:

  • Brewing ratio: 1g coffee to 16g water
  • Slurry temperature (coffee+water): 195-200° F
  • Extraction: 20-21%
