Colombia Pitalito Single Origin Espresso
MUSCAT GRAPE // SYRUPY // CARAMEL
A light roast espresso.
This delightful lot is from a brand new producers association (founded March 17th of 2016) called The Gold Coffee Association located in Bruselas, Pitalito Municipality in Southern Huila. This association was created in order to bring more ease to producers in finding an international market - something that is nearly impossible to do on your own as a smallholder producer. In a little over a year, this association has been successful in bringing many producers' coffees to the specialty market in a way that we can easily trace down to the producer level.
With abundant water sources (Guarapas, Guachicos, and Magdalena rivers), constant rainfall, a consistent climate located in the Colombian Andes, this is a beautiful region that we hope will remain strong through climate change. With vibrant muscat grape and silky texture, this lot is excellent - but as an espresso, it's intense caramel sweetness is firing on all cylinders.
