Ethiopia Celinga Village

Ethiopia Celinga Village

Celinga is one of a handful of villages in the Gedeb region of Yirgacheffe, and is part of the highly anticipated coffee harvest in the south that we cherish each year. With red loamy clay soil and biodiverse forest, one can only imagine the sheer number of varieties of Typica that grow within the region. Despite the challenge of drought that has affected most of East Africa, this lot is sweet, articulated, and bursting with life. We are really happy with it!

It’s with great excitement that we are able to launch our first fresh crop Ethiopian filter coffee of the year. With elegant flavours of peach and a floral, ataulfo mango quality, Celinga is delightful.
For all types of filter coffee brewing, we recommend the following parameters:
    • Brewing ratio: 1g coffee to 16g water
    • Slurry temperature (coffee+water): 195-200° F
    • Extraction: 20 - 21%
