Guatemala Peña Blanca
CREAMY // TAYBERRIES // LINGERING
The region of La Libertad is a place we can’t fully describe in words. Rolling hills turn into the huge sweeping, lush green mountains overlooking the border into the Chiapas region of Mexico. Warm winds sweep in from the Tehuantepec plain, protecting the coffee in the highlands from frost -how nice of Mexico.
Special coffees grow at Peña Blanca. The microclimate and production are exceptional here, but especially the section of the farm in which our lot is comprised. The family’s continuous focus on quality and their sense of social responsibility (they maintain a full school and access to healthcare for the local community) makes us excited to work with the Vides Family for yet another year.
In the cup we find flavours of creamy tayberries, good body, and subtle sweet acidity.
