We couldn’t be more excited with the results from the Project Origin Late Harvest auction held in Honduras earlier this year. Two of our leading producing partners, Elio Diaz and his son-in-law Kelvin Pineda, scored 3rd and 1st respectively. Their washed Bourbon and Pacas varieties scored the highest in the auctions history, while simultaneously breaking the record for the average price per lb in Honduras.
We’ve worked closely with Elio Diaz for over half a decade now, and he continues to reward us with some of the best washed Pacas that we’ve had the pleasure of trying. This year his Pacas variety scored a significant 90.29 in the final round of the auction, a tremendous result. We knew that we couldn’t miss out on this lot, not only because of the quality but also the sentimental value it holds for us.
Named ‘Recuerdo Los Andes’, we are thrilled to be a part of Elio’s success and continued hard work and to offer you this very special lot.
In the taste, bright and intense flavours of bosc pear mingle with floral, magnolia aroma. Superbly clean, round and juicy acidity of blood orange with concentrated tart sweetness reminding us of tamarind and dates. Long lasting finish and an almost marshmallow like texture. Enjoy this unique coffee!
