Every year, our World’s Best release is our way of celebrating Mother’s Day through coffee: something thoughtful, beautiful, and worth sharing. For 2026, we’ve chosen a coffee that feels especially fitting for the occasion — Colombia Nariño – Huellas de Encanto, a lot cultivated by 30 women producers organized through Asociación Ecoterra SAS in southern Colombia.
Why we chose this coffee
In the cup, Huellas de Encanto is elegant and expressive. Roasted for espresso, it brings together bright citrus, honeyed sweetness, and a refined caramel finish. That profile feels especially right for Mother’s Day: vibrant, warm, and full of grace. Its balance is part of what makes it so memorable — sweetness and structure, lifted by the lively character that coffees from Nariño are known for. The coffee is fully washed, a process often associated with clarity and definition in the cup.
About Huellas de Encanto
This lot comes from 30 women producers working in the municipalities of La Unión, San Pedro de Cartago, Génova, and San Lorenzo in Nariño. These growers are organized through Asociación Ecoterra SAS, and the lot is built from coffee cultivated on small farms in the highlands of southern Colombia. Reported elevations for this coffee range roughly from 1,800 to 2,100 meters above sea level, with some listings placing the broader lot range as high as 2,200 masl. The coffees are typically varieties such as Colombia, Caturra, Castillo, and Typica, depending on the lot reference.

The strength of origin
Nariño is one of Colombia’s most celebrated coffee regions, known for its towering elevations and cool growing conditions. Those conditions can slow cherry maturation and help concentrate sweetness, which is one reason coffees from the region are often prized for their lively acidity and layered flavor. Several Ecoterra and Nariño offerings describe the regional profile with notes in the citrus-and-sweetness spectrum, which fits beautifully with what we found in this coffee.
Why it feels right for Mother’s Day
We loved this coffee not only for what it tastes like, but for what it represents. Huellas de Encanto is shaped by the work of women producers whose coffees come together through collaboration, traceability, and shared access to market. That sense of collective effort made this lot feel especially meaningful for our Mother’s Day release. It’s a coffee with brightness and poise, but also with a story grounded in care, dedication, and persistence.
In the cup
Expect an espresso that opens with bright citrus, settles into honeyed sweetness, and finishes with a refined caramel note. The result is clean, composed, and deeply enjoyable — a coffee that feels special enough for gifting, but easy enough to return to every morning.

For us, World’s Best is always about more than a seasonal label. It’s a chance to share a coffee that feels memorable and meaningful. This year, Colombia Nariño – Huellas de Encanto does exactly that: a beautiful cup, grown by remarkable women, and selected to celebrate Mother’s Day with intention.
