Description

From the highlands of Aleta Wondo in southern Sidama, this fully washed coffee brings together regional Ethiopian landraces grown at approximately 1,800 masl. Selected for our holiday collection, this elegant coffee brings a bright and refreshing touch to the season, perfect for the moments of discovery and celebration.

Ripe cherries are carefully sorted and depulped, fermented in water, then slowly dried on raised beds. Roasted medium light for filter brewing, the cup is bright, clean and beautifully layered, with fragrant jasmine, ripe peach and sweet lemonade. Brown sugar sweetness and a silky, tea like body provide balance, leading into a refreshing citrus and floral finish that becomes increasingly expressive as the coffee cools. A delicate and vibrant choice to savour throughout the holiday season.

SOURCING STORY

Established in 1975, the Dobenawicho Primary Cooperative brings together approximately 1,530 smallholder coffee producers in Aleta Wondo, Sidama. Members typically cultivate less than one hectare, growing coffee alongside vegetables and other crops for their households and local markets. Selected for our holiday collection, this coffee celebrates the dedication of the farming community behind every cup, bringing a meaningful story of craftsmanship and connection to the season. During harvest, ripe cherry is delivered to the cooperative each day for careful sorting, washing and raised bed drying. The cooperative employs up to 85 people during the season to manage processing and daily operations. As part of the Sidama Coffee Farmers Cooperative Union, Dobenawicho also has access to producer training, certification support, infrastructure and community programs that strengthen local farming communities. Every cup offers an opportunity to celebrate the people and traditions that make exceptional holiday coffee possible.
