Description
SOURCING STORY
Bitta Farm is owned and managed by Asmamaw Wodemariam in Bitta Woreda, within Ethiopia's Kaffa Zone. Surrounded by the mountainous forests of southwestern Ethiopia, the farm is part of a landscape where Arabica coffee has grown naturally for centuries. Asmamaw has invested in both coffee production and processing infrastructure at Bitta, managing the farm's plantations, workforce and processing operations while developing greater control over quality from farm to export. The estate covers approximately 445 hectares, with coffee growing at elevations between 1,900 and 2,050 metres. Working alongside Asmamaw is coffee advisor and supply-chain specialist Abenezer Asfaw, who helps connect Bitta Farm with international coffee buyers while supporting quality improvements and direct trade relationships. Together, their work brings Bitta's coffee from its forested origins in Kaffa to specialty coffee drinkers around the world.
