SOURCING STORY
This lot comes to us from the Masha washing station, through our long term exporter Greenco. Named after the hill it stands on, Masha comes from the Kirundi word amasho, meaning “herds of cattle.” Once known more for livestock than coffee, the area was a historic crossroads for herders, where locals still greet each other with “gira amasho” — “owner of cows.” Built in 1989, the station serves smallholder farmers who intercrop coffee with food and cash crops to support their families.
