Description
Grown in the hills of Caldono in Colombia’s Cauca region, this coffee is the result of a shared effort between seven small scale farmers who cultivate and process their coffee on their own family farms. At elevations between 1400 and 1750 meters, the combination of mountain climate and clay rich soils helps develop coffees with smooth body, balanced acidity, and natural sweetness. Each producer carefully harvests ripe coffee cherries by hand before processing them at their own micro-mills. The coffee is fully washed, depulped, fermented & rinsed, then gently dried on raised beds under solar protection. This slow, controlled drying helps preserve clarity in the cup while building a rounded, approachable character.
SOURCING STORY
This coffee comes from a group of seven smallholder farmers in Caldono, a mountainous region in Colombia’s Cauca department. Each producer carefully harvests and processes their coffee on their own farm, using traditional washed methods and drying the beans slowly on raised beds. Through a partnership with Banexport, these coffees are brought together as a traceable community lot, combining individual efforts into a consistent and balanced regional profile. The result is a smooth and approachable espresso with notes of orange, brown sugar and milk chocolate, reflecting both the land and the people behind it.
