This washed Sidra from Hacienda La Papaya in Loja, Ecuador, is a refined and expressive filter coffee from producer Juan Peña. Grown high in the Andean mountains, the cup is bright, clean and layered, showing notes of honey, apricot, citrus peel, black tea and delicate florals. The washed process highlights the Sidra variety’s clarity and aromatic complexity, giving the coffee a polished structure, soft sweetness and a clean tea-like finish.

Hacienda La Papaya is one of Ecuador’s most recognized specialty coffee farms, led by producer Juan Peña in the highlands of Loja. The farm is known for precision agriculture, careful variety selections and a highly controlled approach from seed to export. CafExporto describes its coffees as “Juan Peña Certified,” meaning the process is managed from the genetic bank and growing practices through post-harvest processing, dry milling & logistics. At Hacienda La Papaya, Sidra is grown in a dry tropical Andean climate with strong sunlight, cool nights, mineral rich, clay loam soils and carefully managed irrigation. This environment contributes to refined acidity, floral brightness, transparent sweetness and a clean finish.
