Description
This Kenya Machakos Kaliluni AA espresso opens with vibrant blackcurrant and pink grapefruit aromatics, leading into a layered cup of ripe red fruit and citrus brightness. A natural brown sugar sweetness rounds the acidity, creating balance and structure without muting the coffee’s lively character. The body is smooth and silky, with a refined floral lift and a clean, lingering finish that makes each sip both expressive and composed.
SOURCING STORY
Grown at 1,700 - 1,900 meters above sea level in Machakos County, this coffee is produced by 1,659 smallholder farmers who deliver ripe cherry to the Kaliluni Washing Station. The region’s volcanic loam soils and high elevations contribute to dense, structured coffees known for vibrant fruit character and clarity. After harvest, the coffee is fully washed using Kenya’s traditional double fermentation method, then carefully dried on raised beds to preserve sweetness and balance.
